Cycling Forcella Staulanza & Passo Duran

This ride started and finished in Arabba, had a side spur to Longarone, and featured two climbs often seen in the Giro d’Italia: The Forcella Staulanza and Passo Duran. This was a big long day in the saddle so I didn’t take the time for many pictures. Consequently, a lot of the riding was in the trees so there were fewer great cycling vistas that with many of the other rides in the Dolomites.

The top of Duran is less than spectacular. It’s a hard-ish climb but nothing special.

This is the official start to the Passo Duran climb.

The Forcella has its moments of beauty.

To Ride or Not to Ride

This route was probably the least awesome of the Dolomites offerings because much of this route is in the trees. Unless you are staying there a long time I’d recommend you look for other routes.
