Cycling Giao Pass from Pocol

The north side of the Giau is the “easy” side, though it isn’t an easy climb. This side is 8.6km long at 8.3%. The other side is 10km at 9.1%. The numbers may seem close but there is a noticeable difference in the suffer-factor on the two sides of this mountain.

This is where the fun begins.

Open Pasture on Passo Giau. We see cows very soon.

All the cows in these parts have huge bells around their necks and they make a lovely chorus.

Getting near the top the trees dissipate the views widen.
